Welcome to Mikegtz World
So... My profession is social work. I am a graduate of the Boston College Social Work program. Currently I serve on the GSSW alumni board. I am working full-time at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth I have been an LICSW for six years in Massachusetts,.which allows me to practice counseling independently if I wish...and I might someday. Psychiatry and human services work together have made notable strides in the last 20 years in sorting out and clarifying abnormal psychology and its treatment. What exactly is going on in any given situation and what the best course of treatment might be are still areas where the human services field needs to develop good standards of practice. The truth lies somewhere between biology and psychology, between drugs and theories of human behavior. Drug information available at the WebMD site is reasonably comprehensive. To major in Human Services is to minor in pharmacology.
Page 2 is a short biography including events and places in my life. I also created a webpage in remembrance of my father, who passed away Wednesday, August 21st, 2002 in the early evening hours..The song Across The Island is written in his memory. Lyrics for this song can be found on Page 6 on this site. Thanks to the .ws folks for the beautiful template for the song.
Page 3 is new! I am using this page to introduce everyone to my latest project, the musical Tenderness and Joy which at some point I will move to its own website. This project has been created over the past 2 1/2 years and is the one project I have promised myself I will carry as far as it will go. The script first draft has been written, the music has been demoed at Bristol Recording Studios in Boston (thank you, Chris Billius) and I will be sending the project out for production consideration in the near future. Thanks to musician friends who have taken time to give it a listen all along the way so far.
Page 4 is my Peacock Coffeehouse tribute page. I was able to recently convert a VHS recording of a concert given at Peacock by Jim Scott and Martha Sandefer in November, 1986 to DVD disc and I may see if I can include a concert excerpt here with Jim and Martha's blessings.
Page 5 describes album projects which I have recorded for myself but not produced for distribution. I may also discuss some other future projects on this page.
